The story behind FUNCLO

Hi, I’m Piret – the creator of Funclo.

I’ve been sewing my own clothes for as long as I can remember. My journey began in 1990s Estonia, when making your own garments was often the only way to wear something unique and well-fitting. Since then, I’ve believed that clothes should be made with care, intention, and love.

I studied garment production, tailoring, and pattern making, and have worked in the fashion industry for many years – from sewing lines to using advanced digital pattern design software. Today, pattern drafting tools are part of my daily work, and I also teach pattern making and modeling at TalTech University.

Funclo’s digital sewing patterns are inspired by real-life needs – they’re comfortable, functional, and well-fitted. Every pattern is tested on a variety of body types through 3D modeling before being released. Each comes with a step-by-step illustrated sewing guide, making it easy even for beginners.

Every pattern starts in my own wardrobe. I design for real life, wear-test each piece, make adjustments, and only then turn it into a downloadable pattern you can confidently sew at home.

Funclo’s mission is to make sewing joyful and accessible to everyone. This is your place for inspiration, knowledge, and encouragement to create clothes you’ll truly love to wear.
